For those of you that don't know what an RPG or FPS is, they're gaming genres which you've probably already seen. RPG stands for role-playing game and is the typical japanese adventure game which you might love like dragon quest, final fantasy, pokemon, etc. For conversations sake, lets consider these the Easten nintendo games. On the other hand, we have FPS's which stand for first person shooter. Now these are your halo, your call of duty and any other heavy killing game which you can think of. Remember these as your western xbox games.

Now I don't want you to say, "I like both," or, "They're both okay."
NO! I want you to take a stand and choose which side you're on!
Whether it be the elegant and tasteful RPG's which have taken the lives of hardcore grinders and otakus's?
Or maybe the fast paced, full blown graphics of the FPS is more to your appeal?

Your Opinion?

RPGs. All the way. I've never been good at FPSs, ever since Goldeneye, and I would rather shoot a real gun, to be honest (except I shoot at targets, not people). I also like playing RPGs and being able to get caught up in the story.

RPG. I like lazying my behind on the couch rather than go for adrenalline pumping action. I can enjoy building the characters and read the story at the same time, accompany by snacks (many) and of course soft drink. Highly recommended for low budget getaway.

I do a little. Not as much as I'd like, though. It seems like every time recently that my dad gets the guns out to go target shoot, I'm not at home.

Pistols are my preferred type of firearm, although I don't have a favorite pistol. My grandpa let me shoot his Colt .45 once, and it was fun but oh man did it kick. My hands ended up over my head, haha. I usually shoot .22s and 9mms.

Knowing how to handle a gun doesn't make a person scary. If anything else, I know how to be safe with them while a person who doesn't know how to handle one might hurt themselves or others.

But I think you're only potentially scary. You don't really scare me. Also, I know where my dad keeps his guns. ^.^

I've never shot a fully automatic gun before. I bet it's so cool. And awesomely destructive. Which is also cool.

Pistols are fun to shoot, especially revolvers. My brother bought a 9mm pistol for his 21st birthday, instead of going out drinking. laugh.gif

Talk about an easy question. I enjoy RPGs, and I flat out hate FPS's.

Why choose when you've got great RPG/FPS hybrids such as Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Uncharted?

mass effect is third person shooter/rpg really, bioshock has more rpg elements then actual rpg mechanics implimented into the game. and uncharted? uncharted is a third person action/adventure game set in the styles of gears of war cross with tomb raider. where do the rpg elements come in for that?

anyway, prefere rpgs over shooters. give me a tales game over any of those generic not at all different shooters that litter the game medium any day. besides, more of a third person shooter fan then a first person shooter. third person just feels like they give you more control, plus you can easily tell jumping dinstance and such. the only first person game to ever make platforming good is metroid prime 1 and thats simply looking a little bit downward when jumping. its shocking how something so little can improve the feel of a game.

FPS FTMW!! biggrin.gif
Actually I love both RPG/FPS games, but gotta say that fps ones gives me more adrenaline, fear and that sort of stuff. I remember playing doom, the first levels scared me to hell..but then I was the one to scare those freaking demons..xD

I've not been playing many games in the past 1-2 years tho. The only game that I'm still playing is a FPS genre one. It's great as you can only play it on multiplayer mode with people around the world and teaming up is one of the best features of it. smile.gif
