Chapter Summary: Teito Klein, a former slave and orphan, is sent to attend the Barsburg Empire's Military Academy, thanks to his ability to use Zaiphon (a rare and valuable magic). However, Teito is unable to remember his past, except in his terrible nightmares. One day, he hears his name being spoken, and realizes he has found his father's murderer. Enraged, he attacks the man, but is subdued and sent to jail. However, he is able to escape and take refuge in a church. From here, he begins to unravel the mystery of his past, and the 7 Ghosts.
